The following two photographs are two different views of Orion and were taken by Doug Scobel on December 14, 2006.

Orion, Hyades, Pleiades

In this photo, Orion is at the bottom. Above Orion is a “V” shaped group of stars called the Hyades. Near the top is another group of stars called the Pleiades.

Orion Rising

A different view of Orion. Below and to the right of Orion, the constellation Lepus is visible.
