Conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon

These two images show the conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon,
on the mornings of November 8 and 9, 2004. Venus is the brightest
star-like object at lower left, followed by Jupiter and then the Moon.
You can see how far east the Moon has moved in its orbit in a single
day. Venus and Jupiter have also moved noticeably farther apart during
that time.
Photos were both taken with a Nikon Coolpix 800 digital
camera mounted on a tripod, exposure time one second.
