The Moon and Venus

Photograph taken by Mark Deprest February 2, 2000. This shows a crescent moon and Venus (the bright object at the bottom of the picture). The dark area of the moon is illuminated by light reflected from the earth.

It was taken with a Pentax 35mm camera at Prime focus through a 5” f/5 refractor. This was a 1 second exposure using Kodak Max 800 film and was taken from Mark’s backyard at 6:45am EST.
