This page contains lunar eclipse photographs produced by members of the University
Lowbrow Astronomers.
Composite: Lunar Eclipse of January 20-21, 2000 and Full Moon of
January 29, 1999

This is a composite of eight photographs, all taken by Mark Deprest:
- Along the diagonal: Six photographs of the moon taken at different times
during the lunar eclipse of January 20-21, 2000 at Peach Mountain.
They were taken with a Pentax 35mm camera at Prime focus through a
5” f/5 refractor. All were 1 second exposures using Kodak Max 800 film.
- At the lower right: A photograph of the moon taken January 21, 2000 at Peach
Mountain during totality (the maximum part of the lunar eclipse).
Taken with a Pentax 35mm camera at Prime focus through a 5” f/5 refractor using a 3 second exposure and Kodak Max 800 film.
- At the upper left: A photograph of the Full Moon taken January 29, 1999, at Peach Mountain with a Pentax 35mm camera and Fuji Superia 400 film. This was a metered
exposure taken at prime focus of a 8” Meade LX10 SCT.
The composite was created with Microsoft Picture It! 2000 software.
