In May 2007, we received a photograph from Mark Vincent along with this note:

Hi Fellow Lowbrows,

It was great to talk with you. As I mentioned, I’m off to the solar observatory surrounded by Lactus Ursa Major!

Just to make sure you’re all envious, take a look at the panorama. I took it while waiting for my interview to start. I was thinking, ya, I could enjoy working here

The Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO) located in Big Bear Lake, California and is operated by the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Their main interest is the physics of the Sun; they observe solar phenomena with dedicated telescopes and instruments.
