September: Pengpeng Feng (visiting scholar from
Zhongshan University, China) gave a presentation on how western
feminist film theory could be applied in China
October: The group read and discussed “The Modern
Girl” project by Tani Barlow et.al at the University of Washington
November: Min Ah Kim (visiting journalist from
South Korea) lectured on Korean women and politics
December: Yan Chen from Fudan University reported
on the UM-Fudan Women’s Studies exchange program;
Wang Zheng presented her ten-city lecture tour in China

January: Professor Hitomi Tonomura gave a talk
on female junior scholar and career in American academia; Discussion
with graduate student members
February: Discussion on Bibliographies—Korean
