Time: January 17 (Wednesday), 6:30-8pm

Beginning with a discussion about Professor Traub's book, The Renessance of Lesbianism in Early Modern England, we engaged in a conversation about, but not limited to, historicizing sexuality and gender, interdisciplinary methodology, rethinking the Premodern/Modern and East/West in gender and sexuality studies. The other two readings that we have suggested are:

Halprin, David. 2002. "How to Do the History of Male Homosexuality." Pp. 104-137, 185-195In How to Do the History of Homosexuality. Chicago: University of Chicago Press.
Ko, Dorothy. 1999. "Rethinking Sex, Female Agency, and Footbinding." Research on Women in Modern Chinese History 7 (8): 81-105
