This is a list of references used in The History of University of Michigan Observatories.

Note: Some copies of The University of Michigan: An Encyclopedic Survey in Nine Parts are in the form of nine separate books and some copies are bound into four volumes. Parts 1-3 are Volume 1, parts 4-5 are Volume 2, parts 6-7 are Volume 3 and parts 8-9 are Volume 4. In 1975, two additional Volumes were added to this series: Volume 5 and Volume 6.
