VA Hospital

Go to the VA Hospital and play bingo with the veterans on their weekly bingo nights! Starts at 7 pm. The VA Hospital is on North Campus (2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105) and TheRide has a bus route (route 3)that takes you to that area. Please sign up ONLY if you are certain you are able to attend. Remember that you need to fulfill your requirements for membership! We will email you with more information a few days before the event!

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help out at blood drives, assisting with directions, checking in donors, and other related tasks. The drives run from 7am to 7pm in the Towsely Center Lobby located adjacent to the University Hospital on the main medical campus. Volunteers are expected to volunteer for two hours. More information will be provided by email a few days prior to the event! Sign ups will be available soon.

Food Gatherers

We will be helping out at food gatherers community kitchen! We will be cooking and preparing meals to serve in downtown Ann Arbor. Volunteers must be available for the entire time from 3-5pm. It is a great opportunity to get involved in the community!

BookMARK

BookMARK is an ongoing program that allows the college volunteers to form long-term relationships with elementary students, especially if they go to the same classrooms on a week-to-week basis. They have some volunteers who come to the same session every week, along with some who come to different sessions sporadically, so there are all sorts of options depending on each volunteer's schedule and desire to commit. You will be able to play and interact with kids and teachers while working on your social and team building skills. You can begin volunteering as soon as you would like!

Ronald McDonald House

MESO is helping out at Ronald McDonald House once again this semester! We will be cooking and serving dinner to the families there and then cleaning up afterwards. This is a great way to get to know some other MESO members while also having a fun time cooking and providing a great service to others. Volunteers must be able to stay at Ronald McDonald from 4 p.m. until around 7:30 p.m. Only 8 volunteers can attend this event, so if you are interested, make sure you sign up fast! Please only sign up if you are 100% sure you can attend, because we cannot afford to have last minute cancellations and people need to fulfill requirements! Look out for an email a day or two before the event!
