Attendance Requirement:

Chapter Attendance: must attend at least 75% (12 out of 16 currently schedule chapter meetings)

Event Attendance: must obtain a minimum of 35 points, with each event assigned to a point value ranging from 1-4 points.

Inactivity - Eligibility and Declaration:

National Inactivity: Nationally Inactive Members shall be Members who have been Active Members but who are not taking any classes that meet at the sheltering institution. A Member who is currently on an accredited or academically recognized co-op, internship, or study abroad program shall be eligible for National Inactivity. Nationally Inactive Members are exempt from paying National dues.

Local Inactivity: Locally Inactive Members are Active Members, with permission from their collegiate chapter, who do not wish to be active in Phi Sigma Pi's affairs. If you are locally inactive you are not responsible for any participation in committees, events or chapter meetings. However locally inactive members must still pay full dues by the deadlines provided.

Declaration: A Brother seeking local or national inactivity, which shall include a legal loss of voting privileges, shall first inform the President before the third meeting of the semester and then present a letter to the Secretary at a regular meeting, which is to be kept on file.  At that Chapter meeting, the Brother must stand before the active members at that meeting and inform them of his or her local/national inactive status for the following semester. Inactivity shall be effective upon receipt of the letter. After the third chapter no brother shall be allowed to go inactive without extenuating circumstances and the approval of the Executive Board.

Alcohol Policy:

Phi Sigma Pi is a professional organization, and we do not endorse alochol-related events except in rare occasions (e.g. Charity Bar night). Brothers are not permitted to promote the consumption of alcohol among the initiates.

*No one under the age of 21 is allowed to purchase, consume, possess, or to transport any alcohol.

Anti-Hazing Policy:

Hazing is strictly prohibited among the ranks of Phi Sigma Pi. Hazing is defined as any action taken or situation created intentionally to produce mental or physical embarrassment. Reports of hazing activity will be taken seriously, and disciplinary action will be taken against perpetrators.

Failure to Fulfill Requirements:

Each Brother is allowed a one-semester Grace Period at any point in his or her membership in Phi Sigma Pi in which attendance requirements for Chapter or events are not met. If a Brother already had a semester of local inactivity, then grace period will not apply for him/her. Failure to meet attendance requirements beyond this one semester grace period will cause him or her to no longer be in good standing with the fraternity on a local level, to lose the rights to receive and wear Phi Sigma Pi honor cords at graduation, and to be eligible for involuntary expulsion (See Article IV, Section 5). Exceptions will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by the Executive Board.
