Environmental Grantmaking
This
page lists foundations that have funded environmental, diversity
and social justice issues in recent years. Foundations change
their funding portfolios, so grantseekers are advised to check
foundation webpages (provided below) to see each organization's
funding criteria. It is also a good idea to contact the relevant
program officers about funding criteria and proposal submissions.
While the list of environmental grantmakers
is impressive, the LIMFEF webpage focuses primarily on the environmental
funders who have funded minority organizations, diversity initiatives,
projects and programs that are located in minority communities
or that benefit low-income communities or communities of color.
This page also lists foundations that fund programs that target
minorities.
It should be noted that environmental
projects are not funded solely through environmental programs.
Environmental projects are sometimes funded through programs
such as civic participation, public education, community organizing,
etc.
For a complete list of environmental
grantmakers see the Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA)
