Experimental data collected by measuring the output light intensity of a glowstick as a function of time shows the actual kinetic behavior of glowsticks and the TCPO luminescence reaction. The behaivior is quite interesting in that the stick peaks in intensity within the first several minutes, then drops to a nearly constant rate for many hours afterward. Current efforts at modelling this system have not acheived perfect results when compared to the experimental data. The model presented here, however, does do a decent job of explaining the observed trends, although it is still far from perfect. A sample piece of experimental data, overlaid by a plot of the model, is shown below.
