Notes for Elisabeth Weigel

1839 Henry Leinbaugh and wife Barbara sold land to Abraham Leinbaugh, all of Paradise Twp, on March 15. Abraham was to maintain Henry and Barbara during their natural lives. [1]

1839-40 Abraham Leinbaugh was taxed in Paradise Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [2]

1840 Elizabeth Linebaugh lived in Conewago Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (15 thru 19); and females: 1 (15 thru 19) and 1 (50 thru 59). [3]

1843-4 Widow Elizabeth Linebaugh was taxed in Conewago Twp, York County. William and Jesse Linebaugh were also listed. [4]

1845 The heirs of Abraham Leinbaugh deceased of Union County signed a release to the administrator Henry Gearich. The heirs were widow Elizabeth Leinbaugh, Daniel Machlin and Polly his wife, Daniel Leinbaugh, Abraham Leinbaugh, Jesse Leinbaugh, Wilm Leinbaugh, and Henry Leinbaugh. [5]

1850 Heirs of Leonard Weigle and his daughter Elizabeth, wife (widow) of Abraham Linebaugh, made a land transaction, related to the estate. The first party was several Kendig relatives, living in Wayne County, Ohio. The second party was heirs of the widow Linebaugh, mostly of Pennsylvania. The land was in Conewago Twp, York County and had been owned by Leonard Weigle, deceased, of West Manchester Twp, York County. Leonard Weigle had granted the land, by his will dated April 5, 1825 and proved July 18, 1825, to daughter Elizabeth, wife of Abraham Linebaugh (now widow) and after her decease to the grandchildren, the said parties of the first part being one family of the testators grandchildren. The land was granted to the said parties of the second part (being Linebaugh heirs) the other family of the testator's grandchildren. [6]

1864 Elizabeth Linebaugh died on September 19. Elizabeth Linebaugh was buried on September 21 at Quickels Cemetery, Conewago Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Linebaugh was born on December 8, 1781. [7]

Research Notes:

1842 Minor children of Paul Sowers deceased of Perry County petitioned the York County Orphan's court to appoint guardians. Jane, Matilda, Elizabeth, and Margaret Sowers, all under age 14, petitioned to have Abraham Linebaugh appointed as their guardian. Catherine, Lucinda, and Mary Ann Sowers petitioned by their mother Elizabeth to have George Linebaugh appointed as their guardian. The petitions were approved on August 6, 1844. [8]
