... and I order that all my children shall have equal share out of my estate to wit Abraham Greenawald, Jacob Greenawald, Elizabeth the wife of George Albert, Christopher Greenawald, Susanna the wife of Henry Shoff, Christian Greenawald, Michael Greenawald, John Greenawald, Henry Greenawald, and Peter Greenawald each of them an equal share.

1821 John Greenawalt and Elizabeth Conner were married on January 25, 1821 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. [2]

1837 John Greenawalt warranted 80 acres of land at the Lima, Ohio land office, dated March 16. [3]

1840 Jno Greenawalt lived in Fairfield, Columbiana County, Ohio in a household with Males: 1 (age Under 5), 1 (age 5 thru 9), 1 (age 10 thru 14), 2 (age 15 thru 19), and 1 (age 50 thru 59); Females: 1 (age 5 thru 9), and 1 (age 40 thru 49). [4]

1850 John Greenawalt (age 60, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Fairfield, Columbiana County, Ohio with Elizabeth Greenawalt (age 53), Mary A Greenawalt (age 19), and Abraham Greenawalt (age 16). [5]

1860 John Greenawalt (age 70, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Fairfield Twp, Columbiana County, Ohio, in a household with Elisabeth Greenawalt (age 63). John Greenawalt's occupation was farmer. [6]

1870 J Greennewalt (age 80, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Green Twp, Mahoning County, Ohio, in a household with Joseph Roller (age 40), Mary A Roller (age 39), Wm E Roller (age 18), Joshua L Roller (age 14), Emma E Roller (age 9), Deborah Gnutt (age 24), and Elizabeth Greennewalt (age 73). J Greennewalt's occupation was ret farmer.

A pension application for service in the War of 1812 reported the following [7]:

John enlisted on October 6, 1814 and was discharged from service on December 31, 1814.

John served under the command of Captain John Uhles Co PA Mil.

1821 John Greenawalt and Elizabeth Conner were married on January 25, 1821 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

John had lived in Columbiana County (Washingtonville), Ohio in 1855 and 1871.

Elizabeth died on September 19, 1889. Elizabeth had lived in Washingtonville, Mahoning County, Ohio in 1880.

John Greenawalt died on March 1, 1875 in Washingtonville, Ohio.

1875 John Greenawalt died on March 1, 1875 and was buried at Washingtonville Cemetery, Washingtonville, Mahoning County, Ohio. John Greenawalt was born in 1790. [8]

1893 Son Jesse Greenawalt, spouse of Susannah Greenwalt, died on October 3 in Allen County, Indiana. He was born on January 16, 1822 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, son of John Henry Greenawalt and Elizabeth Greenawalt. [10]

1892 Susannah Greenwalt, spouse of Jesse Greenawalt, died on January 3. She was born on February 6, 1826 in Pennsylvania. [11]

1850 George Grenawalt and Sarah Zimmerman were married on January 3 in Columbiana County, Ohio. (FHL film 000927767). [12]

1876 George Greenawalt, spouse of Sarah Greenawalt, died on September 3 in Franklin Twp, Columbiana County, Ohio. He was born on March 25, 1824 in Pennsylvania, son of John Henry Greenawalt and Elizabeth Greenawalt. [13]

1911 Sarah Greenawalt, spouse of George Greenawalt, died on January 30 in Leetonia, Columbiana County, Ohio. She was born on November 27, 1822 in Columbiana County, Ohio, daughter of Joseph Zimmerman and Susanna H Zimmerman. [14]

1852 Wilson H. Greenawalt and Ruth Scroggy were married on February 5 in Columbiana County, Ohio. (FHL film 000927767). [15]

1880 Wilson Henry Greenawalt, spouse of Ruth Greenawalt, died on June 12. He was born on January 10, 1826 in Pennsylvania, son of John Henry Greenawalt and Elizabeth Greenawalt. [16]

1906 Ruth Greenawalt, spouse of Wilson Henry Greenawalt, died in May in Knox Twp, Columbiana County, Ohio. She was born in 1828 in Franklin Square, Columbiana County, Ohio. [17]

Mrs. Ruth Greenawalt. Mrs. Ruth Greenawalt, widow of the late Wilson H. Greenawalt, and for many years a resident of Knox township, is dead at the old homestead, about three miles south of Sebring.

Mrs. Greenawalt's maiden name was Scroggy, she having been born at Franklin Square 78 years ago. In the neighborhood of her birthplace • she to womanhood and was married grew to Mr. Greenawalt in 1851. For about 40 years her home had been in Knox township.

Of the family six children were born, four sons and two daughters, all of whom are living.

1896 Daughter Mary Ann Roller, spouse of Joseph Roller, died on July 4 in Columbiana County, Ohio. She was born on September 26, 1830, daughter of John Henry Greenawalt and Elizabeth Greenawalt. [20]

1891 Joseph Roller, spouse of Mary Ann Roller, died on September 20. He was born on June 1, 1829, son of Joseph Roller and Sarah Ann Roller. [21]

1856 Abraham Greenawalt and Jane A Miller were married on December 6 in Columbiana County, Ohio. (FHL film 000927767). [22]

1880 Jane A Greenawalt, spouse of Abraham Greenawalt, died on September 22 in Mahoning County, Ohio. She was born on March 18, 1837 in Mahoning County, Ohio. [23]

1922 Son Abraham Greenawalt, spouse of Mary Jane Greenawalt, died on October 24 in Mahoning County, Ohio. He was born on February 23, 1834 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, son of John Henry Greenawalt and Elizabeth Greenawalt. [24]

Research Notes:

We seek documentary evidence about whether John Greenawalt, heir of Abraham was the same person as John Greenawalt, spouse of Elizabeth Conner. A DNA match with a descendant of John Greenawalt and Elizabeth Conner is the only link that we have found.
