1776 Jacob Bailey served in First Battalion under Col Henry Miller, Captain John Erman's Company in York County, Pennsylvania in the Revolutionary War. [1] [2]

1777 Jacob Bailey, perhaps this one, was a private in the Company of Captain John Erman, of the Seventh Battalion of York County. [3]

1783 Jacob Bailey, perhaps this one (his father was taxed in Shrewsbury Twp), was taxed for 10 acres and 5 inhabitants in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [4]

1784 An. Eva Behly, daughter of Jacob and Susan Behly, was born September 7. She was baptized on September 14 with sponsors Henry and Margaret Ruhl in York County, Pennsylvania. [5] [6]

1785 Jacob Bailey was named as the husband of Susanna, daughter of Henry Merckel deceased, in proceedings of the York County orphans court on November 30.

The Petition of Jacob Merckel, was read to the Court Setting forth, That the Petitioners Father Henry Merckel lately died Intestate leaving a Widow named Julianna and lawful Issue Namely, the Petitioner Jacob his Eldest Son and Heirs at law, George, Martin, Henry, Michael, John, Susanna intermarried with Jacob Bailey, Magdalena, Eva and Anna Maria to survive him (the said Martin, Henry, Michael, John, Magdalena Eva and Anna Maria being minors under the age of Twenty and years). That the said deceased at the time of his Death was owner of a Certain Improvement and Tract of Land Situate in Codorus Township, Township Containing about Two Hundred and fifty acres, adjoining Lands of Christian Meckly, Henry Neff, Jacob Kerkman Adam Rose and others, and also of an Improvement and Tract of Land Containing about Two Hundred Acres Situate in Shrewsbury Township, adjoining Lands of Peter Lice, George Geiselman, Jacob Korpman and others; That the said Widow and Children of the said deceased Hold the said above described Lands together and undivided …

1798 Jacob Bailey, yeoman, and John Boyer, miller, purchased land with a grist mill at a sheriff's public vendu auction of land of Jacob Etter. Dated October 23. Jacob Bailey and wife Susanna sold their part to John Boyer on August 2, 1799. [7]

1798 Jacob Bailey Jr yeoman gave a mortgage for land of Jacob Etter wagon maker, both of Shrewsbury Twp, York County on July 28. [8]

1798 John, Jacob (perhaps this one or his father), George, and Daniel Bailey were all named in the U.S. direct tax list for Shrewsbury Twp, York County. [9]

1799 Jacob and Susanna Bailey of Shrewsbury Twp, York County, sold land to John Beyer. The land with gristmill had been granted by Michael and Margaret Kleinfelder to Andrew Myer in 1795. John Beyer and Jacob Bailey purchased it jointly. Dated August 2. [10]

1808 Jacob Bailey and George Steffey were administrators for the estate of Jacob Markel late of Codorus [perhaps the eldest brother of Susanna]. [11] [12]

1829 Jacob Bailey was buried at Elimsport Cemetery, Elimsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Jacob Bailey was born in 1762. [13] [14]
