Our research focus is Johannes Rohrer, spouse of Elizabeth Snavely. We show Johannes as a son of this Heinrich Rohrer, as do some other researchers.
c 1690 Heinrich Rohrer was born in Hamm, Germany. [1]
1716 Heinrich Rohrer was called a Mennonite when his daughter Esther was buried at Hamm. [2]
1727/1738 Henry Rohrer died in Hamm. [3] [4]
1738 The Mennonite widow of Heinrich Rohrer was living at Hamm with 2 children and Jacob Rohrer was living at Hamm with no children next to her. [5] [6]
1743 Heinrich Rohrer's widow was living at Hamm with one son and one daughter. [7] Johannes Roehrer was listed adjacent. [8]
1753 The widow of Heinrich Rohrer was called "an old woman" living alone at Hamm. [9]
Research Notes:
Richard Warren Davis proposes a daughter Catherine Rohrer as the wife of Isaac Snavely. [10] However, the death certificate of Isaac's daughter Catherine reports the mother's name as Risser.
1719 Catherine Rohrer was born in October in Hamm, Germany.
In Catherine's copy of the 1748 Martyr's Mirror, it was written that she and her husband "were raised in Germany, near each other along the Rhine River in Hamen". [11]
1795 Catherine Rohrer Schnebeli died in October.
A daughter Esther, born on January 2, 1716 and died January 3, 1716 in Hamm Germany, has been named.
We seek evidence of any relationships between the families of 1) Hans Michael Rohrer and Catharina Schwägler [12], 2) Johannes Rohrer and Elizabeth Snavely [13], and 3) Durs Rohrer(1599-?) and Anna Rohrer (1604-?) of Bolligen, Bern, Switzerland [14].
