1870 W R Allen (age 49, born in North Carolina) lived in Clarksville, Red River County, Texas, in a household with S A Allen (age 35), Walter Allen (age 18), C L Allen (age 9) and S P Allen (age 8). W R Allen was a painter. [3]
1910 William R Allen died on September 18 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas. He was born about 1823 in North Carolina. [4] [5]
Aged Citizen Dead. W. R. Allen, aged 86 years, died at 11:45 last night at his residence, 402 Columbus street, Funeral services will take place at 1 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. E. E. Ingram, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment at Oakwood.
Deceased had been a resident of Waco about fourteen years. He was well known here and highly esteemed respected by a host of friends and acquaintances. He is survived by his widow and four children, W. C. Allen, Atlanta, Tex.: Mrs. M. E. Webber, St. Louis; G. C. Allen and Mrs. L. J. Abshier, Waco.
