An Eppley genealogy reports the following about Frederick's parents [7]:
FAMILY No. 6
JACOB EPPELE (Epply)
(1741 - 1820)
JACOB EPPELE of Codorus Township, York County, Pa., was born April 1741, and died April 9, 1820, according to his tombstone inscription. Who his parents were, where born or when he came to this country, we have not been able to find so far. He appears in Codorus Township early. His first land grant is of June 26, 1764, second June 15, 1774. He owned considerable land in the township and settled thereon and remained there until the time of his death. His name he signed in German and in this line we find the name written by himself as Eppele, and by others Epply, Epply and Eppley.
His wife was named Elizabeth. We find her joining in signing of deeds by making her mark. She is named in his Will and survived her husband several years. Her parents' name is unknown, but she was born May 24, 1755 and died March 24, 1835, according to the record of the tombstone. They are both buried in the old Codorus Burying Ground.
The Will of Jacob Eppele was signed October 27, 1817, and probated June 5, 1820, in which he names his wife Elizabeth, his plantation, and sons Jacob, John, Frederick and Peter, and daughters.
