Joseph McCoy Cochran Jr was buried at Rehobeth Cemetery, Pierce County, Georgia. Joseph McCoy Cochran Jr was born on December 24, 1923 in Blackshear, Pierce County, Georgia. [9] [10] [11]

Mr. Joseph McCoy "JM" Cochran, Jr., 86 of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday afternoon (September 15, 2010) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center.

Born in Blackshear on December 24, 1923, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. Mr. Cochran had farmed most of life but had also served in the US Army during World War II. While in the Army, Mr. Cochran received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star medals. He had been a Mason and had loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Cochran was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church where he was in the Senior Men's Sunday school class and was also a deacon.

Mr. Cochran was a son of the late Joseph McCoy Cochran, Sr. and Stella Mullis Cochran Callahan. He was also preceded in death by all three of his sisters, Mary Alice Flowers, Martha Howard and Annie Lee Peacock, and 11 brothers, Lamar Cochran, Carroll Callahan, William Callahan, Cleo Callahan, Clarence Callahan, Archie Callahan, J.R. Callahan, Herbert Callahan, Warren Callahan, Vic Callahan and Fran Callahan.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen Cason Cochran of Blackshear, his daughter & son-in-law, Joni & Tim Farmer of Blackshear; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry & Dixie Lou Callahan of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Joey Farmer, Cassie Farmer and Emilee Farmer and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

1950 William L Cockran (age 31, born in Georgia, married) lived in Blackshear, Pierce County, Georgia, in a household with Minnie L Cockran (age 25), William L Cockran Jr (age 4) and Brenda J Cockran (age 1). William L Cockran was a farmer. [12]

2002 Lamar Cochran died on May 28. He was born on April 18, 1919 in Pierce Count, Georgia, son of Joseph M Cochran and Stella Mullis. [13] [14]
