1847 Peter Ritner, son of ex governor Ritner, and Amelia Jane, daughter of Alexander Davidson Esq of West Pennsboro were married on January 13, by Rev. Mr. Lillie. [5]
1847 "In 1847 he [Robert Wilson], with Peter Ritner (son of ex-Gov. Ritner, of Pennsylvania), were appointed collectors and general agents for the Cumberland Valley Railroad. At that time business on this road was conducted in a very different manner than now, there being no station agents, and Messrs. Wilson and Ritner were both freight and passenger agents, collecting, as conductors, for passengers and freight." [6]

1880 Peter Ritner (age 61, born in Pennsylvania), married, self (head), Farmer, lived in West Pennsborough, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania (father born in Pennsylvania and mother born in Pennsylvania) with Jane M. Ritner (age 45), Annie M. Ritner (age 27), and Mary D. Ritner (age 26). [13]
bef 1886 "The farm near Mount Rock which was purchased by ex- Gov. [Joseph] Ritner, and which is now the residence of his son, Peter Ritner, is on a tract for which a warrant was taken out in 1732." [14]
1886 Peter Ritner of West Pennsboro Twp, Cumberland County dated his will on June 23. Legacies of $2000 to each of Anna M, Mary D, Walter C, and Joseph A Ritner, from the legacy left to their mother by the estate of Alexander Davidson, deceased, her father. William D Ritner has already received his share through his mother, Mary Jane Davidson, Peter Ritner's first wife. The remaining
estate to current wife Jane M Ritner. [15]
1889 Peter Ritner, spouse of Mary Jane Ritner, died on March 3 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was born on September 3, 1818 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, son of Joseph Ritner and Susannah Whistler Ritner. [16]

1911 Sgt William Davidson Ritner, spouse of Frances C Ritner, died on October 11 in District of Columbia. He was born on January 21, 1844 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, son of Peter Ritner and Mary Jane Ritner. [17]
1926 Anna Shenk died on July 19 in Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Anna Shenk was born on September 17, 1847 in Mount Rock, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, child of Peter Ritner and Amelia Jane Ritner. [18]
1931 Walter Clark Ritner, spouse of Annie Ritner, died on January 23 in East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey. He was born on January 4, 1855 in Mount Rock, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, son of Peter Ritner and Amelia Jane Ritner. [19] [20]
1900 Joseph A Ritner (born in Pennsylvania in Aug 1856, single), boarder, lived in Township 11, Placer County, California, in a boarding house. Joseph A Ritner's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Joseph A Ritner was a carpenter. [21]
1920 Joe Ritner died on July 7 in Sacramento, California. [22]
