1742 A license of Marriage dated January 29 was granted by his Excellency Lewis Morris. Esq., Governor, unto Benjamin French, Carpenter, of the one party and Martha Hall, Spinster, daughter of Capt. Burgiss Hall, "Marriner", of Bordentown, New Jersey and Abigail Hall. [3] [4] [5]

1747 Benjamin French, of Bordentown, Burlington County, joyner, dated his will on September 10. Wife, Martha, and son Richard. Real and personal estate. Proceeds of the estate to wife, Martha, to bring up son, Richard. Executor: brother William French. Witnesses: Joseph Tillton, Sam'l Farnsworth, Ju'r, Thos. Folkes. [6] [7] [8]

1747 An inventory was recorded on September 19. Valued at £278; made by Thos. Folkes, Jno. Imlay, Sam'll Shourds, Jur. Includes house and lot in Bordentown, and 10 acres adjoining Wm. French. [9]
