1858 Maurice James and wife Sarah purchased land from Samuel St Clair and wife Catherine of the City of Reading, Henry J. Clay and wife Anna of Reading, James hadcroft and wife Mary of Covington Kenton County Kentucky by deed dated July 26. The land was a quarter of lot 128 in Reading Borough, bounded as described in Berks County Deed 48-519 dated in 1842. John Ritner owned the land and died intestate with four children to wit Sarah wife of Maurice James, Catharine wife of Samuel St Clair, Mary (wife of James Hadcroft) and Anna (wife of Henry J Clay). OBITUARY. Death of Samuel St. Clair. Samuel St. Clair, 387 South Seventh street, died on Monday night, aged 67 years. He was born in Northumberland county, and had been in the employ of the Philadelphia and Reading railroad company for about thirty years, until he was suspended two years ago. He was the father of twelve children, six of whom and the widow survive.
1886 Catharine Ritner St. Clair died on April 15, 1886 and was buried at Saint Peter the Apostle Church Cemetery, Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Catharine Ritner St. Clair was born on November 11, 1818. No documentation is provided. [10] [11]
Mrs. Catharine St. Clair, No. 337 South Seventh street, died at an early hour yesterday [April 15] morning, aged 67. She had been ill for a long time, suffering with a complication of diseases. Her husband, Samuel St. Clair, died on the 9th of February last. She was the mother of twelve children, six of whom survive.
1908 Sarah Cecelia Eisenhour, daughter of Samuel St Clair and Catherine Ritner, died on June 10, 1908, at age 58, in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Sarah Cecelia Eisenhour was born on January 10, 1850, in Reading, Pennsylvania. [13]
