COMMUTATION REFUSED TO HARRY HINZEY District Attorney John C .Arnold and Walter Welch returned last evening from Harrisburg, where they appeared before the Board of Pardons. Attorney Welch represented Harry Hinzy, the Madera murderer, who asked for a commutation of his sentence from death in the electric chair to life imprisonment. The application was opposed by District Attorney Arnold on behalf of the Commonwealth. The board refused Hinzy's application and he must pay the penalty for stabbing Alex Wash to death.
