1778 Isaac Rogers, son of Isaac and Ann Rogers, was born on March 14. [1] [2]
1826 Isaac Rogers, son of Isaac Rogers was named as a surviving heir, among others, in the partition of real estate from the estate of Isaac Rogers Senior, according to a decree of the Middlesex Orphans court. Dated December 13. [3]
1826 There were apparently two probate packets for the estate of Isaac Rogers Senior of Middlesex:
1826 The will of Isaac Rogers was proved in February in Burlington, New Jersey, USA. This was likely Isaac Senior. Ezekiel Rogers and Stacy DeCow were executors in 1826. [4]
1826 The will of Isaac Rogers was proved in Middlesex, New Jersey, USA. Case 18646. Administered by Ezekiel Rogers. Robert Lutes and wife Ann petitioned for a division. This was also Isaac Senior. [5]
1827 Isaac Rogers dated his will on July 17 in East Windsor Twp, Middlesex County, New Jersey. The will named wife Ann, son Aaron, daughter Mary, daughter Martha, daughter Rachel, son Isaac, daughter Elizabeth, son Ezekiel, and daughter Matilda. Sons Aaron and Isaac were named as executors. The will was affirmed on November 21, 1832. [6]
1827 Isaac Rogers and wife Ann sold land to Samuel Hughes on August 31 that Isaac had inherited from the estate of [his father] Isaac
Rogers deceased of Middlesex County. The land was on Assanpink Creek adjacent to John Cubberly's meadow lot and [perhaps Isaac' sister] Rachel Roger's land. [7]
1850 Son Ezekiel Rodgers (age 35, born in New Jersey) lived in Richland, Grant County, Indiana, in a household with Eleanor Rodgers (37), John Rodgers (9), George K Rodgers (7), Marcellus Rodgers (2), and Amanda J Rodgers (0). Ezekiel Rodgers was a farmer. [8]
1882 Son Ezekiel Rogers, spouse of Eleanor Rogers, died on June 21. He was born on April 11, 1815 in New Jersey. [9]
1895 Eleanor Rogers, spouse of Ezekiel Rogers, died in 1895. She was born on February 27, 1813. [10]
Research Notes:
There were several different men named Isaac Rogers.
1798 Isaac Rogers Jr was reported, at the Chesterfield meeting, to be neglectful of attendance at meetings and to have gone out in marriage. Dated November 6. [11]
1798 Isaac Rogers was disowned by the Chesterfield meeting. Dated December 4. [12]
Isaac Rogers, spouse of Elizabeth Lamb:
1802 Isaac Rogers and Elizabeth Lamb were married on December 19. [13]
1828 A partition of the estate of Joseph Lamb, of Burlington County, was requested by John Gaskill and his wife Sarah, late Sarah Lamb, daughter of Joseph Lamb. Other heirs were Samuel, Joseph, and John Rogers, children of Elizabeth Rogers (deceased), late wife of Isaac Rogers. John Rogers was in his minority (under age 21?). Date November. The land was in Nottingham Twp. [14]
1826-28 Estate accounts were made for another man named Isaac Rogers, as documented below. We suspect that the 1826 account made by Ezekiel Rogers, in the notes above, was for Isaac Rogers, married to Ann Taylor. We do not know who the estate, below, is for.
1826-28 The account of the estate of Isaac Rogers, deceased, was prepared by John Rogers and Aaron Robbins, administrators, for the Burlington County Orphans' Court, February term. They posted bond as administrators on 24 August 1826. The first payment was dated 24 August, 1826. Payments were made to Batter Atkinson (tavern expenses), Peter Ellis (grave digging), Mary Parker for nursing, Joseph Cook for medical attendance, and Thomas Tallman for professional services. The accounts were closed on February 11, 1828. [15] Lydia Rogers was named. [16]
1827 The will of Isaac Rogers, perhaps spouse of Ann Dawson:
1827 The will of Isaac Roger was dated July 17. The will was proved on November 21, 1822 in Middlesex, New Jersey, USA. The will named Jorder Roger (Wife), Aaron Roger (Son), Mary Roger (Daughter), Martha Roger (Daughter), Rachel Roger (Daughter), Isaac Roger (Son), Ezekiel Roger (Daughter), Elizabeth Roger (Daughter), and Matilda Roger (Daughter). [17]
1832 The will of Isaac Rogers, of East Windsor, Middlesex County, New Jersey, was dated July 17, 1827. The will named wife Ann and children Aaron, Mary, Martha, Rachel, Isaac, Elizabeth, Ezekiel, and Matilda. Sons Aaron and Isaac were named as executors. The will was proved on November 1, 1832 and letters of administration were issued to Aaron Rogers and Isaac Rogers. [18] Many researchers name Ann Dawson as the mother of the children named in this 1832 will of Isaac Rogers. Did Isaac marry both Elizabeth Lamb and Ann Dawson? Is there documentation for the marriage of Isaac Rogers and Ann Dawson?
1833 Aaron and Isaac Rogers, executors of the will of Isaac Rogers late of East Windsor Twp, Middlesex County, New Jersey, sold land from the estate fo Joseph Ayres on April 1. [19]
1850 Son Aaron Rogers (age 52, born in New Jersey) lived in Franklin Twp, Warren County, Ohio, in a household with Debora Rogers (47), William Rogers (11), Hannah Rogers (12), and Samuel Rogers (98). Aaron Rogers was a farmer. [20]
1855 Son Aaron Rogers, spouse of Abigail Rogers, died on March 24 in Franklin, Warren County, Ohio. He was born on August 13, 1797 in New Jersey. [21]
A genealogy query recorded:
I am looking for information on Isaac Rogers Jr., b. 3/14/1778, s/o Isaac Rogers Sr. and Ann TAYLOR. This family lived near the Assanpink Creek in East and West Windsor Twps., Middlesex Co. (now Mercer Co.), New Jersey. The will of Isaac Jr., probated in 1832 (Middlesex Co., 11581L), lists wife Ann and sons Aaron, Isaac, and Ezekial, plus 5 daughters. I believe that the Ezekial listed is my gr-gr-grandfather, b. 4/11/1815 of Isaac Rogers and Ann DAWSON, but need more information. Ezekial Rogers and Aaron Rogers (Ezekial's older brother?) both moved to Warren Co., OH, in 1835. Ezekial Rogers and Aaron Rogers' son, John W. Rogers, later moved to Grant Co., IN.
