c 1777 Charles Cockerham sold his share of his inheritance to John Cockerham, both of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. The tract was adjacent to lands of Benjamin and Obadiah Cockerham, James Wilkins and Thomas Tureman. The deed reports a date in 1773, which is likely an error. The deed was recorded in 1777, by which timne Charles must have been at least age 21. [1]
