John Rapp was appointed guardian for David Rapp (age 11), Matthias Rapp (age 5) William Roudebush Rapp (age 3) and Jacob Hartman Rapp (age 18 months) children of James Rapp deceased. 1849 Francis and Ambrose Roudebush petitioned the Clermont County Probate court in the September term related to Matthias Rapp, William Rap, and Jacob H. Rapp, minor children and heirs of James Rapp deceased [and Paulina Roudebush Rapp]. They petitioned for rights to an 8/9ths share of a tract of property on Stonelick Creek, Clermont County and that Elizabeth Roudebush is the widow of Jacob Roudebush deceased and is entitled to her dowers share of the tract. An answer was given by John Rapp, guardian of David Rapp, Matthias Rapp, William Rapp and Jacob Rapp, which stated that Elizabeth Roudebush had relinquished her right of dower on the property. Elizabeth Roudebush answered that she had released to all her children amongst them the defendant's mother [Paulina Roudebush Rapp?] all her right to dower on the basis of the will of her son John Roudebush.
