Notes for William Taylor

1808 William Taylor of Chesterfield, son of Daniel and Hannah Taylor, married Ann Holloway, daughter of Samuel and Miriam on February 4 (4 of month 2). Witnessed by Hannah Taylor, Hannah Taylor Jr, Samuel Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Joseph F. Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Nathan Taylor, and many others. [1] [2] [3] [4]

1808 William Taylor and Joseph P. Taylor, as tenants in common, purchased land from Jacob Middleton on August 9. Joseph and wife Sarah then sold their share to William. The land was in in the Township of Upper Freehold. [5]

Whereas Jacob Middleton and Hannah his wife, in and by a certain deed or instrument of writing from under their and seals bearing date the ninth day of August eighteen hundred and eight, did grant bargain, sell and convey unto William Taylor and Joseph P. Taylor, as tenants in com mon and to their heirs and assigns, a certain parcel or lot of land situate in the Town ship of Upper Freehold aforesaid, Beginning at a stone standing eleven links the northwesterly corner of said house, in a line north west from said corner, thence said stone, easterly one chain and seventy five links to a stone standing in the of a ditch running under the foot of the westerly bank of Cattail Brook and made mouth of a ditch leading through the meadow to said brook, thence along said northeasterly one chain and fifty links to the middle of said brook on Jacob Kendline, now Jacob Fisher's line, thence down said brook, the several courses thereof four chains and fifty links to a ditch, leading from a spring issuing from under a Wild Tree, thence up said ditch westerly, one chains and fifty links to said spring, thence westerly fifty five links to a stone for a corner, thence westerly two chains and seventy links to the place of beginning. Containing one acre and one quarter and twenty perches be the same more or less Now reference being had to the aforesaid deed or strument of writing the same will more fully and at large appear And Whereas Joseph F. Taylor and Sarah his wife, in and by a certain deed or instrument of writing from and their hands and seals bearing date the thirtieth day of March eighteen hundred and (?) did grant, bargain, sell and forever quit claim unto the aforesaid William Taylor his and assigns, the one half of the aforesaid described property reference being had to the aforesaid deed or instrument will more fully and at large appear.

1809 Joseph Freeman Taylor, son of Daniel (deceased) and Hannah Taylor of UpperFreehold, Monmouth County, married Sarah Carslake on 12 April. Witnessed by William Taylor, and many others. [6]

1818 William Taylor and wife Ann of Upper Freehold got a mortgage for land from Joseph F Taylor of Nottingham on April 27. The land was described in a deed dated 1808 from Jacob Middleton. [7]

1818 William Taylor died on May 5 in Burlington County, New Jersey. William Taylor was born on December 18, 1785, child of Daniel Taylor and Hannah Taylor. [8]

1850 Ann Riley (age 63, born in New Jersey) lived in Mansfield, Burlington County, New Jersey, in a household with Mark Riley (54), William T Riley (23), Josephin Clanagar (15), Benjamin Hollway (18), and Frank Newbold (16). [9]
