Richard G. Applegate UNION CITY, Ind. - Richard G. Applegate, 64, 1602 Indiana 28, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

He was born July 21, 1935, in Darke County, Ohio, to Edward and Elsie Amspaugh Applegate. He was the founder of and consultant to R.G. Applegate Steel Co. and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Union City, a director of Peoples Loan and Trust, a member of the Scotfish Rite of Ft.

Wayne; Masonic Lodge 401, Elks Lodge 1534, Eagles Lodge 2790, all of Union City; the Moose Lodge of Winchester, and the Union City Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife of three years, Brenda Applegate; three daughters, Angela Applegate, Fort Wayne, Julia Applegate, Minneapolis, Minn., and Vicki Livermore, Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Aaron Applegate, Greenville, Ohio; two brothers, Carol Applegate, Urbana, Ohio, and Larry Applegate, Union City; a sister, Janet McBride, Encino, Calif.; a grandson; and a stepgrandson. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reichard Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Ball Memorial Hospital Oncology Unit or the Randolph County Cancer Society.
