1860 Peter Winebrenner (age 28, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Noble, Noble County, Indiana, in a household with Rebecca Winebrenner (30), Caroline M Winebrenner (3), and Hester M E Winebrenner (1). Peter Winebrenner was a farmer. [2]

1860 Mary R Pickens (age 26, born in Virginia) lived in Noble, Noble County, Indiana, in a household with Samuel Pickens (29), Thomas J Pickens (5), John L Pickens, and William H Pickens (6/12). Mary R Pickens was a domestic. [3]

1866 Peter C Winebrenner and Mary E Pickens were married on November 1 in Albion County, Indiana. [4] [5] [6]

1870 Peter Winebrenner (age 38, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Pokagon, Cass County, Michigan, in a household with Mary Winebrenner (34), Jefferson Winebrenner (14), John Winebrenner (13), Caroline Winebrenner (12), Hetty Winebrenner (11), William Winebrenner (10), Henry Winebrenner (10), Thomas Clark (15), John Wilton (17), Frank Middleton (27), Charles Charlswood (26), Robert Roy (19), and Lewis Bordon (34). Peter Winebrenner was a rr gravel contractor. Note that the names of several children listed as Winebrenner in this 1870 census agree with the children listed as Pickens in the 1860 census. [7]

1875 Peter C Winebrener, married, died on March 26 in Arlington Twp, Van Buren County, Michigan. He was born in Pennsylvania, son of Peter Winebrener and Mary Winebrener. [8]

Perhaps widow Mary Winebrenner married Northrop and got a divorce before 1880.

1880 Mary Northrop (age 40, born in Virginia, divorced) lived in Arlington, Van Buren County, Michigan, in a household with Jeffson Pickens (23), John Pickens (21), William Pickens (19), and Henry Pickens (19). Mary Northrop's parents were both born in Virginia. Is Mary Northrop the widow of Peter Winebrenner? Note that the children named are the same as in the 1870 census, except for Peter Winebrenner's two daughters Caroline and Hattie. [9]

Perhaps Mary resumed use of the names Winebrenner (1900) and Pickens (1910) after she divorced Northrop.

1900 Mary R Winebrenner (born in Virginia in Aug 1833, widowed), mother, lived in Fitzgerald, Irwin County, Georgia, in a household with William H Pickens (40), Maggie L Pickens (17), Nellie E Pickens (3/12), William W Pickens (40), and Callie E Pickens (21). Mary R Winebrenner's parents were both born in Virginia. Mary R Winebrenner had had 7 children, 4 still living. [10]

1910 Mary R Pickens (age 76, born in Virginia, widowed), mother, lived in Fitzgerald Ward 2, Ben Hill County, Georgia, in a household with William H Pickens (51), Maggie Pickens (27), Nellie Pickens (10), and William T Pickens (8). Mary R Pickens's parents were both born in Virginia. Mary R Pickens could not read or write. [11]

1920 Hattie Elizabeth Rasp, spouse of Arthur Raff, died on February 22, at age 60 in Oakes., Dickey County, North Dakota. She was born on June 10, 1859 in Saxton, Illinois, daughter of Peter Weinbranner and Rebecca Spirco. [12]

1924 William Henry Pickens died on March 27, at age 64 in Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, Georgia. He was born on January 21, 1860 in Indiana, son of Samuel R Pickens and Mary R Roberson. Mary's maiden name of Roberson was recorded on her son's death certificate. [13]
