1784 Eva Elisabetha Bortner was born on August 23, 1784 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, child of Johannes Bortner and Susanna Bortner. [1]
1799 William Bordner [perhaps a brother of John Bordner] and wife Elizabeth sold land to John Bordner. [2]
1807 John Bordner and wife Susanna of Upper Paxton Twp, Dauphin County sold land to Adam Weise Junior. The tract was in Upper Paxton Twp adjacent to lands of John Hoffman, Peter Wills, Lauman, William Bordner, and Said John Bordner (party to this deed). John Bordner had purchased the land from William Bordner on August 10, 1799. Witnessed by Adam Heller and Adam Weise. [3]
1812 John Bordner's will was dated on May 23 in Lykens Twp, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and was proven on June 22. The will named wife Susanna and son Peter and made several references to daughters: "my moveable property as mentioned above shall be divided equally among my four children one part to my son Peter one part to my daughter Ann Mary (married to Adam Heller) one part to my daughter Susannah and one part to my youngest daughter Elizabeth", "the two girls viz Susannah and Elizabeth", "to give unto my daughters Susannah and Elizabeth their furniture out of my estate as much as my daughter Eve and Ann Mary had or got of me", "my youngest daughter who is but young yet", "my oldest daughter Ann Mary married to Adam Heller", "my daughter Susanna", "for which my daughter Elizabeth shall pay when she arrives to the age of 21 years", "equally divided among my four Children". Witnessed by William Bordner and Adam Wise Jr. [4]

The 1784 baptism record for Eva Elisabeth and the language of the will suggests that Eve might have already received her share of the estate when the will was written, so she was not counted among four children heirs. Perhaps Eve was the eldest of four sisters: Eva Elisabeth, Ann Mary, Susannah, and Elizabeth. Perhaps Eva Elisabeth was a daughter of Susanna Mohler-Mellinger-Bortner and a half-sister of the other three.
