Notes for Jesse Saunders

1752 Jesse Saunders, son of Julius Saunders and Jemima Woodward born in Albemarle County, Virginia. [1]

1754 Rebecca, daughter of John Alloway Strange and Anne Mitchell, was born in 1754. Rebecca Alloway Strange's spouse was Jesse Sanders. [2]

1776 The revolutionary record of Jesse Saunders (son of Jemima Woodward) indicates that he enlisted in the spring of 1776 in Albermarle Co. Va., applied for a pension while a resident of Fluvanna Co. Va. and died there 4-15-1841. Fluvanna Co. was created from Albermarle Co. Va. in 1777. [3]

1785 Jesse Sanders and Rebecca Strange were married on October 10 in Fluvanna County, Virginia. [4]

1810 Jesse Saunders lived in Franklin County, Virginia in a household with males: 1 (16 thru 25); and females: 1 (Under 10) and 1 (16 thru 25). [5]

1820 Jesse Saunders lived in Franklin County, Virginia in a household with males: 2 (Under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 3 (Under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44). [6]

1820 Philemon Saunders mortgaged land in Franklin County, Virginia to pay for bonds due to Leftwich Davis by Philemon and a bond executed to Leftwich Davis by Jesse Saunders. [7] Philemon sold legal rights to two enslaved persons in the subsequent deed in the deed book.

1831 Jesse Sanders, age 80, received a pension starting on March 4. He lived in Fluvanna County, Virginia. [8]

1840 Jesse Saunders lived in Fluvanna County, Virginia in a household with free white males: 1 (30 thru 39) and 1 (80 thru 89); and free white females: 1 (30 thru 39); and 2 enslaved persons. [9]

1841 The will of Jesse Sanders of Fluvanna County, Virginia was dated January 8. The will was proved on April 24 in Fluvanna, Virginia. The will named Jesse Sanders, Jesse W Sanders (Son), Elizabeth Huff (Daughter), and Sarah Sanders (Daughter-in-law). [10]

1841 Jesse Sanders died on April 15 in Fluvanna County, Virginia. [11]
