These are notes for descendants of Veronica Frances Road with her second husband, Jacob Balsley. Daughters Susannah and Elisabeth were married successively to John Barnhart.

1801 John Barnhart purchased land from Zachariah Connell on July 24. [1]

1801-1804 Jacob Basley was taxed with 143 acres in Bullskin Twp, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Jacob Basley Jun'r and John Barnhart (Innkeeper) were also listed. [2] [3] [4] [5]

1806 Connellsville, Fayette County was incorporated at a meeting at the house of John Barnhart. [6]

1805?-1807 Christian and Jacob Balsley (136 acres) and John Barnhart (Innkeeper-tavern-carpenter-wheel wright) were taxed in Bullskin Twp, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. [7] [8] [9] [10]

1808-1809 Christian, Daniel, and Jacob Balsley (136 acres) and John Barnhart (wheel wright) were taxed in Bullskin Twp, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. [11] [12]

John Barnhart's tavern was on lot 141. The stable was reportedly haunted by ghosts. [13]

1808 Susan (Balsley) Barnhart was buried at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. [14] [15]

1810 Widow Frances (135 acres), Christian (joiner-cabinet maker), and Daniel (single) Balsley, and John Barnhart (Innkeeper) were taxed in Bullskin Twp, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. [16] [17] [18] [19] [20]

1813 (?year unclear) Widow Frances Balsley (133 acres), John Barnhart (weaver, no land), and Dan'l (farmer) and William (carpenter) Balsley were taxed in Bullskin township. [21]

1814 Frances Balsley (133 acres), John Barnhart (carpenter), and Daniel and Christian Balsley were taxed in Bullskin township. [22]

1816 Frances Balsley (133 acres), John Barnhart (5 acres), and Daniel, William, and Christian Balsley were taxed in Bullskin township. [23]

1818 Widow Frances Balsley (135 acres), John Barnhart, and Daniel (farmer) and Christian (cabinet maker) Balsley were taxed in Bullskin township. [24]

1812 John Barnhart and wife Elizabeth of Bullskin Twp, Fayette County, Pennsylvania sold land to John Lamb on June 4. [25]

1812 John Barnhart (innkeeper) and wife Elizabeth of Connelville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania sold land to John Lamb on July 17. [26]

1812 John Barnhart purchased land from Zachariah Connell on November 23. [27]

1815 John Barnhart senior purchased land from Abraham Baldwin. [28]

1826-27 Frances Ballsley widow, John Barnhart weaver, William Ballsley constable, George Ballsley cab ma, John Ballsley Ma maker, and John Barnhart lab were taxed in Connelsville, Fayette County. [29] [30]

1827 The will of Frances Balsly was recorded in Connellsville Twp, Fayette County, Pennsylvania [31]:

In the Name of God, Amen, I Frances Balsly widow now of Connellsville township, Fayette County and State of Pennsylvania being weak and infirm in body but of sound mind and memory (thanks be to the Lord and his mercies) do make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all others by me heretofore made--I do hereby give and bequeath unto my grandson John Strickler (son of Elizabeth Shallenberger formerly Elizabeth Barnhart) my Clock, Ten Plate Stove, one bedstead and bedding, one copper Kettle, two cows, two Iron Kettles, one Cupboard, one bureau, and every other article and thing that I may be possessed of at my death as also whatever money I may have remaining after my debts and funeral expences are paid--And I do appoint the aforesaid John S. Strickler sole Executor of this my last will and Testament as witness my hand and seal this nineteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven, 1827. Frances Balsly. In presence of Stewart H. Whitehill [and] John Orbiu. The 23rd day of January 1828 Before this subscriber Register for the Probate of wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for said county personally came Stewart H. Whitehill and John Oriu the signing witnesses to the foregoing last will and Testament and did declare, the former on oath the latter affirmed, that they respectively saw the Testatrix sign the same when of right mind that they signed as witnesses in his presence and that no undue influence had been used or later will made by her to their knowledge or belief--In Testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal of Office the same day. 1829 John Ballsley Machn Ma, William Ballsley constable, George Ballsley Cab ma, and John Barnhart, labourer were taxed in Connelsville. [32]

1827 John Barnhart sold land to John Strickler on May 17. John Barnhart received the land by bequest of 1 tenth of the estate in the will of Jacob Baltzly recorded in Union Town, Fayette County. Witnessed by David Barnhart and Jacob Stewart. [33]

1827 John Barnhart was buried at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was born in 1758. [34] [35]

1876 David Balsley Barnhart died on November 17 and was buried at Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro, Dearborn County, Indiana. He was born on January 3, 1804 in Pennsylvania. [36] [37]

1888 Joseph Barnhart died on January 2 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Travis County, Texas. Joseph Barnhart was born on September 19, 1817. [38] [39]

1892 John M. Barnhart was buried at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. [40] [41]

1898 John S Barnhart and Martha L Smith were married on March 3 in Fayette City. [42]

1910 Henry Barnhart died on July 26 in South Huntingdon Twp, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was born on March 11, 1822, in Pennsylvania, son of Barnhart. [43]

Henry Barnhart was buried at Madison Union Cemetery, Madison, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. [44] [45]
