Notes for John Hinson

1791 John Hinson Jr entered 200 acres in Anson County, North Carolina. Dated February 25. [1]

John Henson Ju'r enters 200 acres of land on both sides of old Mill Creek adjoining John Hinson Sr Bartlett Hinson Rainey & Hayleys line.

1810 Jno Hinson lived in Anson County, North Carolina in a household with Males: 4 (age Under 10), 3 (age 10 thru 15), and 1 (age 26 thru 44); Females: 1 (age Under 10), and 1 (age 26 thru 44); Slaves: 2. [2]

Research Notes:

If John Hinson was age 21 when he purchased land in 1791, then he was born by 1770.

If the 1810 census record matches this John, then he likely had a child age close to age 15 in 1810. This would suggest that John Hinson was likely born before 1775. The land was adjacent to uncle John Hinson Sr. Did uncle John have a son named John?

Other researchers have reported that John Hinson (son of Benjamin) married Nancy Barrineau and moved to Pike County, Mississippi with son Isham B Hinson. We seek documentation for these relationships. The documents below suggest that John had a son John (1827 Pike County tax) who may have become John Hinson senior of Noxubee County.
