1802 Wiliam Lawrence and his parents George and Judith Lawrence transferred from the Nantucket, Massachusetts Quaker meeting to the Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia meeting. [2]
A Lawrence genealogy reports that William Lawrence was born on December 14, 1780 and died at sea in August 1803. William Lawrence married Ann Marl on February 3, 1803 in Alexandria. Ann Marl was born on October or December 13, 1780 [13, 10, 1780]. They had a son William Wanton Lawrence. [3]
1803 William Lawrence and Rebecca Marl were married on February 3 in Alexandria, Virginia. [4] [5]
1784 Evan Taylor was born on March 9, 1784 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, child of George Taylor and Hannah Taylor. [6]

Taylor and Rebecca Taylor, his wife, (formerly Rebecca Lawrence,) Complainants Against George Talbott and Anthony Rhodes, defendants.The defendant George Talbott, not having entered his appearance and given security according to the statute and rules of this Court, and it appearing to the satistactien of the Court, upon affidavit filed, that the said George Talbott is not an inhabitant of the District of Columbia. On motion of the complainants by their counsel, it is ordered, that the said detendant, George Talbott, appear here on or before the first day of next May term, and enter his appearance to suit, and give security for performing the decrees of the Court: and that the other defendant Anthony Rhodes, does not pay away, convey, or secrete the debts by him owing to, or the estate or effects in his hands, belonging to the said absent defendant George Talbott, until the further order and decree of this court and that a copy of this order be forthwith published, in one of the public newspapers printed in the town of Alexandria, for two months successively, & that another copy be posted at the front door of the Court House of said county. 1829 Land from the estate of Evan P. Taylor was sold to Azairiah Cooley on May 5. The land was on the road from Georgetown to Alexandria and was subject to the dower rights of widow Rebecca Taylor. [16]
1830 Rebecah Taylor lived in Alexandria, Washington, District of Columbia in a household with free white males: 1 (10 thru 14); and free white females: 2 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (40 thru 49); and 2 enslaved persons. [17]
1840 Rebecca Taylor lived in Alexandria, Alexandria, District of Columbia in a household with males: 1 (20 thru 29) and 2 (30 thru 39); and females: 1 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (50 thru 59). [18]
1856 Rebecca Taylor dated her will on May 29, 1854. The will was proved in Alexandria County, Virginia on February 5. The will mentioned children Charles M Taylor, George M Taylor, Mary Ann Klipstine, the children of deceased daughter Hannah E. Clarke, grand-daughter Rebecca Lawrence, grandson George Laurence, William H. Marl in trust for the children of Mary Ann Ogden [perhaps Rebecca's niece], Elizabeth Marl [perhaps Rebecca's sister], Hannah Wander [perhaps Rebecca's sister], Benjamin Hollowell to be used in improving the Friends Burial Ground on Queen Street, anything coming to my estate after my decease from the estate of Nelson Reed [perhaps Rebecca's grand-father], The bequests to Rebecca & George Lourence are not to paid unless they & their mother release my estate from all claims & demands respectively.
1856 The appraisal of the estate of Rebecca Taylor was recorded in the Alexandria court on May 7. [19]
