Richard of England was the second son of King John of England. Richard was Count of Poitou (1225-1243), 1st Earl of Cornwall (1225-1272), and King of the Romans (1257-1272). His older brother was King Henry III of England.
1231 Richard of England and Isabel Marshall, widow of Gilbert de Clare, 4th Earl of Hertford and 5th Earl of Gloucester, and daughter of William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke, were married in March.
1240 Isabel Marshall and her newborn son Nicholas died on January 17 at Berkhamsted Castle.
1243 Richard of England and Sanchia of Provence, daughter of Raymond, Count of Provence, were married on November 23 at Westminster Abbey.
1261 Sanchia of Provence died on November 9.
1269 Richard of England and Beatrice of Falkenburg were married on June 16 at Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
1272 Richard died on April 2 at Berkhamsted Castle in Hertfordshire.
