Research Notes:
Several DNA matches report a descent from Mary Platt married to Clevenger. So far, none of them match each other, so the matches might be spuriosly linked to Clevenger in these notes. We are investigating whether there is DNA evidence that Robert Wolfe is a Platt descendant.
Thomas Platt (died before 1742) reportedly had a daughter Mary who married John Clevenger. In addition, both John and Thomas Clevenger (died 1746) married a Mary Platt whose date of birth suggests that she was contemporaneous with Thomas Platt. Thomas has been named as the father of Zachariah (perhaps born in 1750, after John Thomas died?). Notes for both John and Thomas are included in the notes below until these relationships are sorted out.

1772 Thomas Clevenger, spouse of Mary Clevenger, died in 1772 in Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey. He was born in 1722 in New Hanover Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, son of John Clevenger and Mary Clevenger. [4]
1750 Mary Clevenger, spouse of John Clevenger, died in 1750 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She was born in 1681 in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York. [5] [6]
Perhaps Mary was a sister of John Platt.
A plausible descent has been proposed for son George.
1809 George Clevenger, spouse of Deliverance Clevenger, died on December 25 in Clear Brook, Frederick County, Virginia. He was born on October 17, 1714 in New Hanover Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, son of John Clevenger and Mary Clevenger. [7]
1809 Asa Clevenger died on February 16 in Frederick County, Virginia. He was born on September 15, 1750 in Frederick County, Virginia, son of George Clevenger and Deliverance Clevenger. [8]
1805 Johnston Lacey and Ruth Clevenger were married on July 30 in Frederick County, Virginia. [9]
1829 Aden Clevenger died on January 13 in Marion Twp, Fayette County, Ohio. He was born on August 8, 1755 in Frederick County, Virginia, son of George Clevenger and Deliverance Clevenger. [10]
1850 Ruth Leasy (age 66, born in Virginia) lived in Chester Twp, Clinton County, Ohio, in a household with John J Leacy (68), E Leacy (26), H A Leacy (21), and Alfred Leacy (21). [11]
1854 Ruth Lacy, spouse of John Johnson Lacy, died on May 27 in Wilmington, Clinton County, Ohio. She was born on June 24, 1783 in Frederick County, Virginia. [12]
1880 Margeret B. Haynie (age 59, born in Ohio, married), wife, lived in Clarke Twp, Clinton County, Ohio, in a household with John W Haynie (59), Hannah E Haynie (31), Alpheus N Haynie (21), and Charles Haynie (19). Margeret B. Haynie's parents were both born in Virginia. [13]
1881 Orlando Haynie, son of Alpheus Haynie and H A Brandenbey, was born on August 21 in Jefferson Twp, Clinton County, Ohio. [14]
1895 Margaret D. Haynie, spouse of John Wesley Haynie, died on February 19 in Clinton County, Ohio. She was born on February 11, 1821, daughter of John Johnson Lacy and Ruth Lacy. [15]

1949 Frank Orlando Haynie, spouse of Nella Bond Haynie, died on September 17 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He was born on August 28, 1881 in Clinton County, Ohio, son of Alpheus Newton Haynie and Harriet Anna Haynie. [17]

1856 Daniel Clevenger, spouse of Rachel Clevenger, died on April 8 in Wayne County, Indiana. He was born in 1786 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, son of Zachariah Clevenger and Mary Clevenger. [19]
1860 Maria Russel (age 36, born in Indiana) lived in Abington Twp, Wayne County, Indiana, in a household with John Russel (38), William Russel (14), Elizabeth Scott (25), Daniel Russel (12), Mary Russel (10), Henry Russel (8), Sarah Russel (5), Samuel Russel (), and Susan Clevenger (69). [20]
1894 Maria Russell, spouse of John Lawrence Russell, died on March 22. Maria Russell was born on September 21, 1823, child of Daniel Clevenger and Mary Susannah Clevenger. [21]
1880 Henry J. Russell (age 28, born in Indiana, married) lived in Washington Twp, Blackford County, Indiana, in a household with Delila A Russell (21), and Emma M Russell (9/12). Henry J. Russell's parents were both born in Indiana. Henry J. Russell was a farmer. [22]
1905 Henry Russel, married, spouse of Delilia Russel, died on September 20, at age 53 in Marion Twp, Grant County, Indiana. He was born on May 22, 1852 in Wayne County, son of John Russel and Maria Clevenger. [23] [24]
1910 May E Wardwell (age 30, born in Indiana, married for 11 years), wife, lived in Marion Ward 4, Grant County, Indiana, in a household with Leboran Wardwell (34), Mande L Wardwell (2), and William R Wardwell (1). May E Wardwell's parents were both born in Indiana. May E Wardwell could not read or write. [25]
