Research Notes:
The original Herr Lineal Descendants by Theodore Herr identified David Herr (person 15) as a grandson of this Abraham (died 1725) and as a son of Abraham Herr (1700-1785). [10] [11] The revised version of the book corrects this and reports (revised page 777, immediately after the index) that David Herr (15) was a son of Abraham Herr (died 1725) and Feronica Musselman, as we show here. Note that the deeds dated 1736 and 1800 cited in our notes for Abraham Herr (died 1725) make it clear that Abraham (died 1725) had sons David and Samuel, perhaps by a second wife, in addition to the children named in the original Herr Lineal Descendants. Perhaps sons David and Samuel were not yet adults when the deed was first written and they signed it later than did the other signors. Further, neither of the wills of Abraham Herr (1700-1785) or his second wife Feronica Martin name an heir David.
Christian Herr (born c 1707), Ulrich Michael Gingrich, and David Herr have been reported as spouses of Barbara Hershey. We seek evidence about which, if any, was her spouse.
