1631 The probate copy of the will of Johanis Wildman of Stamford, Lincolnshire, was dated December 20. He bequeathed to his wife Sarah, sole executrix, his eldest son Abraham, his youngest son Thomas, and his daughter Susanna. His freehold property was in All Saints parish in Stamford. The witnesses were Timothie Coat and Roberte Royse. [22]
December the 20th 1631. In the name of God Amen I John Wildman of Stamford in the Countie of Lincolne Carrier being whole of minde and perfect of remembrance laud and praise be given vnto allmightie god doe make and ordaine this my testament concerning herein my last will in manner & forme followeing First I committ my soule into the hands of allmightie god my Creator and of Jesus Christ my redeemer by whose merrits I have onely to be saved and my bodie to be buried in the Church of All Saints Item I give and bequeath my freehould in Stamford in the parish of All Saints after the decease of my welbeloved wife Sarah vnto my oldest sonne Abraham Wildeman vpon the Condicon that he shall pay within one yeare after he attaineth the age of one and twentie yeare vnto my youngest sonne Thomas Wildman ten pounds, and to my daughter Sussana ten pounds of current money of England And if it soe happen that my said sonne Abraham doe not pay vnto my sayde sonne Thomas ten pounds of currant money of England, and to my said daughter ten pounds likewise of currant money of England, within one yeare after he attaineth the age of one and twentie yeares. Then my will is that the Aldeman and any two of the Comburgesse of Stamford for the tyme being shall haue full power to make sale of my said house and devide the money ewually amongst my three Children And further my will is that yf it soe please god that my sonne Abraham depart this life before he attaine the age of one and twentie yeares that they my said freehould shalbe equally devided between my younger sonne and my daughter Susanna. And alsoe my will is if any two of them depart this life before my sonne Abraham attaine the age of one and twenty yeares then the longer liver to haue it. And yf it soe please god that they all depart this life before my said wife Sarah Then I give and bequeath yt to her and her heyres forever to dispose of at her pleasure. And my will further is that yf it please god my said wife Sarah depart this life before my said sonne Abrahame come to age then my will is that the Alderman and any two of the Comburgesses for the tyme being shall devise for the bringing vp of my siad 3 Children and to devide the remainder amongst them yf any thing be left. And All the rest of my goods vnbequeathed I give and bequeath to my welbeloved wife Sarah whoe I make my sole executrix of this my last will and testament. And I vtter revoke all other wills and bequests. I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first aboue Written John Wildman his marke Published sealed and delivered in the presence of Timothie Coat Roberte Royse
There are no records in the Stamford All Saints register from 1638-1644 except one baptism in 1643 written in the margin. Bishop's Transcripts for All Saints are available for 1638 and 1639 but not 1640-1646.
1645 The will of John Wildman of Stamford was proved on June 28 with administration granted to Sara Dawes, wife of Edward Dawes, lately relict of the deceased and executrix named in the will. [23]
