Philip Plattenberger was married to Susanna Steiner by Brother Paul Weiss in the house of Brother Gottlieb Stauber at Schoeneck, PA. (Moravian Church, Schoeneck, Register Book #2, pg. 60, Item #4, Moravian Archives, Bethlehem, PA)
The Moravian Church baptismal records of Philip's children show that, from 1809 to 1817, Philip was working as a day-laborer and was living in Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA. In 1820 Philip and his wife, Susanna (Steiner), Plattenberger were living in Schoeneck in Bushkill Twp., Northampton Co., PA.
In 1850 Philip Plattenberger (listed as Caleb Blattenberger), age 64, a laborer, was living in Forks Twp., Northampton Co., PA with his wife, Susan Plattenberger age 66, and son, John Aaron Plattenberger, age 29. (1850 census, Microfilm roll #802, Northampton Co., PA, pg. 92, Forks Twp., house #348)
In 1860 Philip Plattenberger, age 74 a day laborer, was living in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA in the household of his son, Aaron Plattenberger, and his family. (1860 census, microfilm roll M653-1148, pg. 1138, house #808, family #887)
Philip died at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 10 days. His funeral services were conducted by Pastor John Jacob Regennas of Schoeneck Moravian Church. The record of his death and burial shows that Philip had six sons and one daughter and that, at the time of his death, he left 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Philip is buried in the 19th row of the male section in Schoeneck Moravian Church cemetery. His obituary appeared in the "Argus" newspaper in Easton, PA.

Philip married Susanna Steiner, daughter of Friederich Heinrich Steiner and Susanna Voltz, on 10 Apr 1808 in Schoeneck, Plainfield (now Bushkill) Twp., Northampton Co., PA. Susanna was born on 15 Jun 1784 in Moore Twp., Northampton Co., PA. She died on 10 May 1858 in Northampton Co., PA and was buried on 12 May 1858 in Moravian Church Cemetery (aka. God's Acre), Schoeneck, Bushkill Twp., Northampton Co., PA.Susanna (Steiner) Plattenberger died at the age of 73 years,10 months and 25 days. Her funeral services were conducted by Pastor Ehrenfried Linke of Schoeneck Moravian Church. (Moravian Church, Schoeneck, Register Book #3, pg. 141, Moravian Archives, Bethlehem, PA) She is buried in the 18th row of the all female section of the Moravian Church cemetery at Schoeneck.
