1909 John Kercher died on April 19 in Freeport, Illinois.
John Kercher, a well-known restdent of this city, residing on Prairie avenue, died last night at 6 o'clock at the White Sanatorium, after an Illness of about six weeks of kidney trouble. Deceased was born in Freemont, Ohio, January 10, 1849, and when small boy moved with his parents to Goshen, Ind., where he resided until he was twenty one years of age, after which he came to Freeport. He resided in Van Brocklin for a number of years and then moved to this city. In August 6, 1870, he was married to Miss Katherine Peck at Monroe, Wisconsin, who survives him.
He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Doak, of Terre Haute, Ind., and Miss Florence, at home and one son, William, of Pittsburg, Pa. A brother Abraham, of Goshen, Ind., and three sisters, Mrs. Cropp, Mrs. Stiner and Mrs. Smith, all of Goshen, Ind., also survive. Mr. Kercher was a butcher by trade and for the past three years has bought and sold stock. He retired from the retail meat business about four years ago. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, from the house.

1928 Catherine Kercher, widow, spouse of John Kercher, died on March 28, at age 83 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. She was born on February 8, 1845 in New York, daughter of Tennin W Peck and Jane D Dean. [10]
1934 William Tenant Kercher, married, son of John Kercher and Catherine Peck, died, at age 52 on February 4, 1934, in Nankin Twp, Wayne County, Michigan. William Tenant Kercher was born on August 1, 1881, in Illinois. [11]
