Anne Herr, daughter of Isaac Herr, married John Groff according to many reports. There is ambiguity about which John Groff she married, the two candidates being born either in March 1731 or in 1715. John Groff's parents have been reported as Michael Groff and Elizabeth, Jacob Groff and Barbara Brackbill, or Joseph Graf and Susannah Orendorf.

Anne Herr married "Swamp John" Groff, March 1731-April 1776/7, the son of Jacob and Barbara (Brackbill Groff. Evidently Anne died young because "Swamp John" Groff remarried to Widow Catherine (Herr) Eshleman. Their home was in Martic Township, now Providence Township.

They had children named Benjamin Groff, Abraham Groff, Joseph Groff, Mary Groff, Elizabeth Groff, Jacob Groff, Anna Groff, Martin Groff and John Groff. Swamp John Groff died in 1777 in Martic, Pennsylvania. [4]
