Research Notes:
A descendant reports: "they had a son Benjamin Jr who, along with Ann Carpenter received a marriage license dated June 24, 1764 (no marriage record found) … Other sources say Ann was Benjamin Jr's first wife and Mehitable Jackson was his second wife … Benjamin Jr. was [perhaps] the father of … Benjamin W. Whitehead, born 1770, Long Island who emigrated to Ontario, Canada about 1810 … [there is] a cemetery stone in Ever Green Cemetery in New York for Ann, wife of Benjamin Whitehead, d.1770." [8]
A descendant reports "my 4th great grandfather Benjamin W Whitehead's parents … were Benjamin Whitehead (1735-1816) son of Capt. Benjamin Whitehead (1705-1780) and Elizabeth Willett and was born Long Island, Queens, New York, and who married Mehitable (Mabel) Jackson in Conn. in 1766.", as suggested by DNA evidence.
