1596 Humphrey Wheatley was ordained deacon and priest at Peterborough, Northamptonshire, on May 6. [3]

1597-1607 Humphrey Wheately was Vicar of Potterspury, Northamptonshire. [4]

c 1600 Daughter Mary was born about 1600 if she was born between Thomas and Humphrey and about age 17 when she died.

c 1604 Son Humphrey Wheatley was born in Potterpury, Northamptonshire (age 17 on June 20, 1621). [5]

1607-1631 Humphrey Wheatley was the Vicar of the Margate St. John the Baptist parish in Kent from mid 1607 until his death in 1631. The pages of the Margate St. Hohn the Baptist parish register starting in mid 1607 and continuing through November 1630 are signed "per me Humfridus Wheatley (vicarius ib'm)."

1609 "Ricardus Burford et Alicia Wheatlye" were married "vicesimo sexto die Julij" in Margate St. John the Baptist, Kent. [6]

1612 "Zacharias Billingherst & Isabella Wheatlye" were married "Decimo octavo die Junij" in Margate St. John the Baptist, Kent. [7]

1613 "Decimo quinto die Septembris 1613 Isabella uxor Zacharie Billingherst filia Humfridi Wheatlye sepulta est" in Margate St. John the Baptist, Kent. [8]

1614 "Decimo die Octobris 1614 Matrimonium solemnizatum fuit inter Joh'em Emptage et Joannam Wheatley" in Margate St. John the Baptist, Kent. [9]

1631 Humphrey Wheatley dated his will on October 8.

In the name of God Amen, the eight day of October Anno Dni 1631 I Humphry Wheatley Clerke and Vicar of St Johns in the Isle of Thanet being of good and perfect memory … weakin body, do constitute and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Gratious maker and Redeemer and my body to be burried in the parish church of St Johns in Thanet aforesaid or at the descredtion of mine Executor. Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter Alice the wife of Richard Burford all such moneyes and goods as she hath had of me allready before my decease to her and to her heires for ever Item I will and bequeath also unto my said daughter Alice the summe of twenty pounds to her paid unto her by mine Executors within three moneths after my decease to her and to her heires forever. Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter Joane Emptage the wife of John Emptage all such moneies and goods wch she or her husband hath had of me alreadye or are w in their house to her and to her heires forever Item I will and bequeath also unto my said daughter Joan Emptage the summe of twentie pounds to be paid unto her and her heires or assignes within three moneths after my decease to her & her heirs forever. Item I will and bequeath unto Humphry and Richard Burford the sonnes of Richard Burferd my sonne in law the summe ten shillengs a peece and unto Elizabeth and Mary Burford the two daughters of Richard Burford aforesaid the summe of ten shillengs a peece to be paid unto the said Humphry, Richard, Elizabeth, and Mary by mine Executor within three moneths after my decease Item I will and bequeath unto Mary Finne the wife of Hamon Finne of Woodchurch in Thanet the summe of ten shillings to be paid unto her within three moneths after my decease Item I will and bequeth unto John, Humphry, Thomas, Henry, and Robert Emptage the sonnes of John Emptage my sonne in lawe and Mary the Daughter of the said John Emptage the summe of ten shillings a peece to be paid unto them the said John, Humphry, Thomas, Henry, Robert, and Mary by mine Executor within three moneths after my decease Item I will and bequeath unto the poor people of the parish of St Johns in Thanet the summe of five pounds to be paid by mine Executor at the day of my buriall and to be distributed at the discretion of the Minister and Church wardens of the said parish of St Johns for the time being Item I will and bequeath unto the poor people of the parish of St Nicholas in Thanet the summe of twenty shillings to be paid within two moneths after my decease to be distributed at the discretion of the Minister and Church wardens of the said parish of St Nicholas for the time being Item I do make my sonne Thaoms Wheatly my sole & onely Executor unto whom I do give all the residue of my goods Cattells & Chattells that are not yet bequeathed to him and to his heires for ever he paying all my debts and legacies and funerall expences The marke of Humphry Wheatly. 1631 The will of Humphrey Wheatley was proved on November 8 in the Consistatory Court of Canterbury.

Research Notes:

Humphrey Wheatley and his son, also named Humphrey, studied at Cambridge and were ordained in the Church of England. The son Humphrey died soon after his ordination. The entry for Humphrey senior in the Clergy of the Church of England database states, [17]
