A biosketch of Daniel Rogers and Lydia Barkalow Parker reports [1]:
Daniel Rogers and Lydia Barkalow Parker were born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and in their youth went with their widowed mothers to the northwestern part of Warren County, Ohio, where so many Monmouth County families had settled. Lydia and her mother moved to Butler County in 1835, Daniel and his mother following one year later. In 1837 Daniel and Lydia were married; a year and a half afterwards Daniel bought a farm of 80 acres at Rockdale in Liberty Township of Butler County and there they made their home, possibly having occupied the place as tenants before buying. They had four sons: William, Isaac, John Henry, and James; and one daughter: Sarah Elizabeth, called Sallie, who was born on August 1st, 1843.
Daniel died in September of 1845 at the age of 40 years, eight months after the birth of his youngest child, James. Lydia carried on at the Rockdale farm with her five children of whom the eldest was only seven years old at the time of their father's death; for several years thereafter her niece's husband, Peter Shafor, did the farming. In 1860 she bought 87 acres with a substantial brick house near Flenner's Corner in Fairfield Township of the same county for $8,100, and there she lived with her family until she died in 1885. The old farm at Rockdale was let to a tenant and, a few months after her death, was deeded to the eldest son, William, by his brothers and sister; at the same time the interests of the several brothers and sister in the farm near Flenner's Corner were conveyed to the youngest, James. This farm was bought in 1931 from the estate of James Rogers, deceased, by Dr. Henry Lee Good who now resides there after having practised medicine in the city of Hamilton for many years. Flenner's Corner is the cross-roads formed by the Hamilton- Middletown pike and the road running north and south on the dividing line between Liberty and Fairfield Townships; it is five miles from Hamilton and eight from Middletown.
1830 Daniel Roger lived in Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey in a household with males: 1 (20 thru 29); and females: 1 (15 thru 19), 2 (20 thru 29), and 1 (60 thru 69). [2]
1837 Daniel Rogers and Lydia Parker were married on March 8 in Butler County, Ohio. [3] [4]
1839 Daniel Rogers bought a farm of 80 acres at Rockdale in Liberty Township of Butler County, Ohio.
1840 Daniel Rogers lived in Liberty Twp, Butler County, Ohio in a household with males: 2 (Under 5), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (30 thru 39); and females: 1 (15 thru 19). [5]

1885 Lydia Barkalow Rogers, spouse of Daniel Rogers, died on May 16 in Fairfield Twp, Butler County, Ohio. She was born on October 28, 1812 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, daughter of William Parker and Sarah Parker. [8]
