1791 Christian Meyer and wife Magdalena of Earl township sold land to Joseph Hoffer and wife Anna. Christian Meyer had inherited the land from his father John Meyer deceased. [3]
1792 The heirs of John Meyer, who died intestate with lands in Earl and Leacock townships, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, were parties to a deed regarding a partition of the land from the estate. The heirs were Joseph Hoffer and wife Anna of Leacock, eldest son Christian Meyer Jr of Earl (his wife Magdalena was named), and heirs of Barbara Good, deceased wife of Henry Good, also deceased. The heirs of Henry Good and wife Barbara (a daughter of John Meyer deceased) were Jacob Good and Michael Good (weavers of Earl), Andrew Dieg (miller of Dauphin County) and wife Anna, Henry Good, Magdalena Good (not named in one listing), and Abraham Good. Mark Grove of Earl was the guardian of Abraham Good (a minor). Christian Meyer Jr was the guardian of Henry Good (a minor). One tract in Earl had been inherited by John Meyer deceased from his uncle John Meyer the elder. Three other tracts were also described. [4]
1797 The will of Joseph Hoffer of Leacock township was dated on October 23. The will named six children by a former wife (John, Joseph, Abraham, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Anna) and named late beloved wife Anna and her two daughters Magdalena and Mary (both minors) and son Isaac. Wife Anna was named and was still alive. The will of Henry Hoffer (should this be Joseph Hoffer?) was proved on April 21, 1812. [5]
