1828 An inquisitioon was held regarding the lunacy of Mahlon Hughes and the disposition of the estate of his father, Richard Hughes, deceased. The findings reported that Mahlon had a younger brother Richard of Nottingham (age 23) and a younger sister Beulah Ann of Nottingham (age 20) married to Ezekiel Cubberly. [3]
1830 Ezekiel Cuberly lived in Nottingham Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey in a household with males: 1 (Under 5) and 2 (20 thru 29); and females: 1 (Under 5), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (20 thru 29). Richard Hughes was listed nearby. [4]
Ezekiel died sometime before 1847.
1847 The estate of John Cubberly Sr, of Mercer County, was partitioned on December 10. It involved land that Achsah had inherited from her father Isaac Rogers. Heirs named were Isaac Hughes and wife Susanna (Cubberley), Samuel Hughes and wife Margaret (Cubberley), Richard Hughes and wife Achsah (Cubberley), Robert Ayers and wife Mary (Cubberley), James J Cubberley, Job Cubberley, and Isaac E Cubberley. John Cubberley and Ezekiel Cubberley had died previously. Ezekiel had heirs Ann Elizabeth, Edward, Margaret, and Enoch, all minors under the age of 21. [5] [6]
1850 Samuel Hughes (age 56, born in New Jersey) lived in Hamilton Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Margaret Hughes (44), Elizabeth Hughes (13), Margaret Cubberley (17), Isaac Hudnert (15), Margaret Bowker (7), and Hannah Johnston (7). Samuel Hughes was a farmer. [7]
1850 Richard Hughes (age 44, born in New Jersey) lived in Hamilton Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Acsha Hughes (35), Amanda Hughes (17), Elenor Hughes (14), Hiram Hughes (10), Andrew Hughes (8), Alfred Hughes (6), Enoch Cubberley (16), and Edward Cubberley (20). Richard Hughes was a farmer. [8]
