1605 Based on his estimated date of marriage, Thomas Bascom was born about 1605. [1]
1630 Thomas Bascom married "by about 1630 Avis ____ (assuming she was the mother of all of his children). … (Since we don't know the date of birth of the child who died in 1647, there may have been a gap of as many as ten years between the first and second children of Thomas Bascom; if this were true, we would suggest that Avis may have been a second wife, and that a possible earlier wife was the mother of Hannah.)" [2]
1634 Thomas Bascom arrived in New England on the ship Recovery in 1634 and settled first in Dorchester where on 22 November "Thom[as] Baskecomb was granted 4 acres." [3]
1635 Thomas Bascom removed to Windsor, Connecticut. "In the Windsor land inventory on 4 February 1640 'Thom[as] Bascombe' held seven parcels of land (one more of these may have been granted as late as 3 May 1653, as that date is also associated with this list): 'an homelot six acres and a half' (annotated 'sold to John Moses'); 'in W[illia]m Phelps meadow two acres' (annotated 'sold to Robart Hayward); 'in Long Meadow four acres'; 'for upland thirty-two acres'; 'a parcel lying betwixt John Heller and Nicolas Palmer's homelots two rod in breadth' (annotated 'this made on ex[ecution] to John Hiller Senior); 'of woodland twenty-four acres'; and 'a parcel of ground three-quarters of an acre'.
