A biosketch reports [5]:
Barbara Steiner was older than the other children, having been born in the Palatinate, possibly about 1724. She died in Bethabara, North Carolina, in 1765. She was married first in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, 27 Apr 1755, to Martin Lueck (Lick), a farmer and teamster. They moved to Wachovia, the Moravian colony in North Carolina which included congegrations at Salem, Bethania and Bethabara, arriving there on 17 Nov 1757. Martin Lueck died at Bethabara in 1760, survivied by Barbara and their daughter Magdalena. Barbara married second George Holder.
Magdalena Lueck was betrothed at Salem on 25 Sep 1780 to Johann Ruez (John Reitz) and they were married soon after. Earlier that year, Johann Reuz arrived from Pennsylvania and established a hat making business in Salem.
