9:00 – 10:00                IPE Briefing on Parliamentary Procedures & Agendas

The IPE staff will provide an overview of parliamentary procedures and agendas for UNAIDS and other forum participants.  At least one member from every region/group of organizations in each of the policy roundtables should attend.

 

9:00 – 10:00                Coalition Building

                                  Room 2015B and Parker Room available for student use

 

Networking opportunity for all forum participants not attending the IPE Briefing.  Regions and groups of organizations are strongly encouraged to develop coalitions to facilitate the negotiations process.

 

10:00 – 12:00              Policy Roundtables

                                  Pendleton Room (Financing)

                                  Ballroom (Targeting)

                                  Room 2015B  (Program/Activity Area)

                                  Parker Room (Intellectual Property)

 

Regions and groups of organizations to present reform proposals (and discuss general positions) in each of the four roundtables.  UNAIDS to lead discussion, with assistance from the following experts:

 

Financing: Jim Hines, School of Public Policy

Targeting: Sioban Harlow, School of Public Health

Program / Activity Areas: Dr. Shingairai Feresu, School of Public Health

Intellectual Property: David Canter, Pfizer

 

12:00 – 1:00                Working Lunch (Assorted box lunches provided for pickup in the Ballroom)

 

                                    Regions and groups of organizations to update members on the state of the policy roundtable negotiations and outline possible strategies and/or position changes. 

 

Individual countries and organizations are also encouraged to meet separately from their region/group of organizations to discuss their specific interests.
