Operations
Committee
The Operations Committee is entrusted with the responsibility
of developing the areas of research focus, monitoring the project
outcomes, and approving any changes in program direction. The communication
of project findings are reviewed by the Committee, regardless of
the media selected for distribution, for quality assurance before
release. It has been largely through the leadership and perseverance
of the members of the Operations Committee that the Center has enjoyed success.

Under the guidance of the Operations Committee,
the Nobel Biocare/University of Michigan Center for Excellence
has conducted projects under the supervision of investigators
from both within The University of Michigan and at other
sites around the world. To-date manuscripts have been published
in peer reviewed journals, and abstracts have been presented and
published in the Special Issues of the Journal of Dental Research.
These studies have involved faculty, and graduate students from
the Department of Prosthodontics, the Department of Cariology,
Restorative Sciences and Endodontics, and the Department of Biologic
and Materials Sciences in the University of Michigan, School of
Dentistry. The Center has been involved in major multicenter
studies involving other Universities in the United States and
in Europe. Additionally, faculty from the Department of Prosthodontics
have worked with predoctoral dental students helping them to obtain
valuable experience in developing and conducting research projects
sponsored by The Center.
